Posture Specialists for Back Pain Relief
Chronic back pain is often influenced by more than one factor.
Poor posture, sub-optimal breathing mechanics, past injuries, limited mobility, muscular imbalance, stress, and repetitive movement patterns, all contriubute to how the body moves and feels over time. For many adults, the compensations that follow result in ongoing back tension or injury.
At Back Cove Personal Fitness in Portland, Maine, we help clients improve movement quality, posture, strength, and mobility through personalized postural restoration and fitness rehab coaching with long-term results in mind.
Our approach helps you understand the root cause of your discomfort so you can take ownership of your body and make changes right away. Clients can expect to feel results within the first 3-5 sessions.
Our Fitness Rehab Specialists employ many techniques, including those taught by the Postural Restoration Institute. The Postural Restoration Institute® (PRI) was established to explore and explain the science of postural adaptations and asymmetrical patterns.
“I have a long list of injuries from action sports, and every time I would go to the gym to get stronger, I inevitably got injured. Jeff showed me how many of my lingering injuries were all interrelated and caused by posture imbalances and poor breathing technique. While working with Jeff I began to get stronger and lift heavier but instead of injuring myself like I did in the past, my constant pain began to improve. Jeff, I can’t thank you enough. Working with you has truly been life changing!” -Justin Meyer
A Movement-Based Approach to Chronic Back Pain
Many people spend years searching for relief without addressing the movement patterns contributing to their ongoing discomfort.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we evaluate how your body moves as a system.
Training may focus on:
- posture and alignment
- breathing mechanics
- mobility limitations
- core stability
- muscular imbalances
- movement coordination
- gait and walking mechanics
- strength development
By improving movement efficiency and reducing compensation patterns, our clients experience less discomfort & stiffness, and improved mobility & strength.
